QUESTIONNAIRE RESULTS

Reaching the end of our programme teachers, students and parents were asked to express their opinion for the benefits of the project.

Parents

To the 1st question (Does the project enrich the school’s educational offer)

11,8% answered NO

88.2%  answered YES because the programme helps children to learn things about new countries, new civilizations, meet new people, learn about their habits and cultures. Furthermore, they make new friends, learn about their educational system, their everyday life, likes and dislikes.  In this way they acquire new experiences, become open minded to new and different people  and learn to accept and respect them.

To the 2nd question (Does the project have any influence for the child’s development of knowledge)

100% answered YES

To the 3rd question (Does the project have any influence on motivating to learning foreign languages)

76.5% answered YES

23.5% answered NO

 

To the 4th question (which project activities were the best for you)

For 34.4% a) the visits to partner schools

14.3%  b) multimedia displays

22%       c) geography and history lessons about partner countries

8,9%     d) Art workshops

 

To the 5th question, all the parents, whose children have visited other countries, answered that this was a great experience for their kids because they had the chance to speak a foreign language, to meet other children from different countries and cultures, learn about their habits and interests, their educational system, they visited the sightseeings of the counties they were hosted and generally came back home full of new experiences and knowledge about the life of their new European friends.

To the 2nd question (What did you like about the project activities

the students answered that they liked the group work for the creation of different kind of mascots, logos, famous buildings, ancient jewels and objects, hosting kids from other countries, presenting traditional dances and customs of  the Greek society, the exchanging of visits, meeting new people and making new friends, communicating in English language, the tours around the historical places, the contests for the project mascot and its name.

 

To the 3rdquestion (Did you learn anything about other countries and cultures

The students answered that they learned details about countries they didn’t know, the other children’s everyday life, their families, their food, their music, songs and dances, their games, their religion, their different habits and customs.

 

To the 4th question (Would you like to repeat the experience?

96.4% answered YES

33.6% answered NO

 

To the 4th question (Which project activity was the best for you?

26.9% answered a) visits to partner schools

18,3% answered b) multimedia displays

3,8%   answered c) geography and history lessons about partner countries

To the 2nd question:  Does the project have any influence on pupils’ intellectual and emotional development.

100% answered YES

With this project the school is open to society, brings the teachers, students and parents in touch with other cultures and civilizations, socializes students because they learn to live and work with children from different countries and enrich their knowledge and experiences through this cooperation. They learn to respect people who come from different cultures and religions, to accept them as equals, make new friendships and realize that they have both differences and similarities. They finally develop a more responsible and mature behavior.

29,4% answered NO

 

To the 4thquestion . If yes has the visit enriched your workshop and methods of work

10% answered NO

90% answered YES. Teachers and students worked together to create results on common subjects through methods that some of them used for the first time, by exchanging ideas and visiting other schools the teachers learned about new and different methods of teaching on various subjects that they will try to adopt in their class. Intercultural and interactive way of teaching always leads to positive educational results.
